An Exposition of the Seven Church Ages
“In December 1960, Brother Branham embarked on a series of messages unlike any he had preached before. Taking a whole week of services, he laid out in detail a breathtaking doctrine. He explained how each of the seven churches of Asia Minor, depicted in Revelation 1-3, prophesied and paralleled the seven ages of the Gentile church from the time of Paul to the present.
In those sermons, Brother Branham also revealed the names of the seven church age messengers and many other mysteries that had been hidden for hundreds of years. Sister Ruth Sumner volunteered in the time consuming task of transcribing the audio recordings into text format. Finally Brother Lee Vayle put the sermon notes into book form. Over the course of many months Brother Branham read the book or had the book read to him multiple times. He continually improved the text and made additional entries before allowing the book to go to press and be distributed.
“…We have taken upon ourselves to try for the glory of God, to–to bring these seven church messages, or Seven Church Ages in seven nights, taking each night an age … Giving the historical of the original church, and the–and the writers, and the historians, and the angels of that age, and–and the messages, and the run of the church as it’s come down through to this time. And it’s amazing to see how every prediction of that Scripture hits solid with history, just exactly, to the thought of it. It even amazed me so much, till, yesterday, I had read till felt like my eyes were swelling out. And I come out and I said to wife, ‘I have never dreamed of it being that way,’ (See?), how great it was.”
The Revelation of Jesus Christ, December 4, 1960″
Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter; The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches: and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven churches. Revelation 1:19-20
